1일 국학원(원장 권은미)에 따르면 토마스 후삭 대사는 “체코 국민을 대신하여 대한민국의 건국일인 개천절을 축하한다”라며 “대한민국 국민의 지속적인 성공, 웰빙과 번영을 기원한다”라고 말했다.
국학원은 오는 3일 개천절을 맞이하여 전국 16개 광역시도에서 개천문화대축제를 개최한다. 특히, 서울에서는 당일 오전 10시 광화문 일대 세종로공원에서 종각역까지 단기 4348년 개천절을 경축하는 거리 행진을 하고 보신각에서 이수성 전 국무총리, 이승헌 글로벌사이버대학교 총장, 임마누엘 페스트라이쉬 경희대 국제대학 교수 등 각계 인사가 함께하는 타종식을 개최한다. (바로가기 클릭)

On behalf of the Czech people and on my own behalf, I would like to extend our congratulations as the Republic of Korea celebrates its National Foundation Day Gaecheonjeol. I wish Korean people continued success, well-being and prosperity.
I would like to take this opportunity to express my strong hope that bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Korea – built on respect, understanding and friendship – will continue to expand in the years ahead across all areas of mutual interest. This year we are commemorating the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between our countries. We very much appreciate the dynamics in Czech-Korean cooperation which got a new impulse in February 2015 with the official visit of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic H.E. Bohuslav Sobotka to the Republic of Korea. During the Summit with President Park Geun-hye the partnership between both countries was upgraded to strategic level.
The Czech Republic and the Republic of Korea are important partners in political, economical and cultural fields. Korea is currently the fourth-biggest trading partner of the Czech Republic outside of European Union. There is also fruitful cooperation in the field of culture and education, including the exchange of students between number of Czech and Korean universities.
May I again offer my congratulations to you on this day which symbolizes the creation of first Korean state in its history.

올해 우리는 양 국가 간 수교 25주년을 기념하고 있습니다. 우리는 지난 2015년 2월 보후슬라프 소보트카 체코 총리의 공식 방한에 힘입어 체코-한국 간 협력이 더욱 활기를 띠게 된 것에 매우 감사합니다. 박근혜 대통령과의 정상회담 동안 양국의 협력관계는 전략적 수준으로 업그레이드되었습니다.
